What is login.gov?
Login.gov is a service that offers secure and private online access to government programs, such as federal benefits, services and applications. With a login.gov account, you can sign into multiple government websites with the same username and password.
Can I use my existing username and password?
No. You must create a new account with login.gov. Existing accounts and API keys have been reset and removed.
What do I need to do?
You need to create a login.gov account, if you don't already have one. Your old FMCSA Developer Site username and password won't work anymore. You'll need to:
- Create a login.gov account - you only need to do this once.
- Enter an email address.
- Create a new password.
- Have a working phone number (mobile or landline) - login.gov will send you a security code.
What email address do I use to create a login.gov account?
You can use any email address to create your Login.gov account. The email address must be unique (you can not have more than one login.gov account with that address) and will be used for any communication from the FMCSA Developer Site. If you wish to change your email with the FMCSA Developer Site, you must change it at the Login.gov account dashboard.
How do I sign into the FMCSA Developer Site after I create my login.gov account?
Every time you click Sign In on the FMCSA Developer Site, you'll go to the login.gov sign in page. You need to enter your login.gov email address, password and the security code that is sent to your mobile or landline phone.
What will happen to my FMCSA Developer Site account?
